At Soul Sisters, Sassy Aussies we believe that every dog deserve to be treated like family. We breed for quality, health and temperament to create wonderful family dogs. Our dogs are also bred to excel in agility and as working dogs.
Hi everyone! Our names are Kaileigh and Ashleigh. We have developed a love and devotion to the Australian Shepherd breed over the years and have teamed up to create Aussies that we feel would make a great addition to any family. Our dogs are family raised so we are a very small scale breeder and have limited litters and puppies each year.
Soul Sisters, Sassy Aussies carefully pairs our dogs to create quality puppies. Our puppies are family raised in our homes with top notch care and constant exposure to kids and other animals. Puppies are vet checked, dewormed, vaccinated and microchipped. Puppies are usually ready to go home between 8 and 9 weeks old and come with New Hampshire health certificates and puppy starter kits.
With Freya‘s calmer, loving, sweet, velcro, family driven personality and Ryder’s loving, sweet, adventurous, ball driven personality we are expecting puppies that will make great additions to any family. These puppies would make wonderful family pets that could easily excel in many areas with proper training.
Our dogs and puppies are pure bred and are all AKC registered. All puppies will come with proper registration papers for a limited registration. At this time, we are not selling puppies with full registration or breeding rights.
Our breeding dogs are health tested prior to breeding. They have their hips checked and cleared with OFA testing done by our veterinarian and have an Australian Shepherd Panel pulled through Paw Prints Genetics or Embark. This panel tests for common genetic issues that may affect the breed. Our dogs are also tested for MDR1 which is a genetic disorder affecting a large number of herding breeds that creates a higher sensitivity level to certain medications and treatments. Please follow the link to learn more about MDR1.
From day one our puppies are raised as part of our families. Our puppies are seen by our veterinarian by 3 days old for their first health check. All puppies will have dew claws removed to avoid any future injury. Puppies are handled daily and begin socializing with our other animals and our children by four weeks old. Puppies also begin litter training at four weeks old and are weaned from their mothers milk between 6 and 7 weeks.
To reserve your puppy we require a non refundable deposit. This deposit goes towards the full purchase price and can be moved to another litter should you not choose a puppy from the current/expected litter. Pick of the litter goes in order of deposits placed. Please contact us for full purchase price on our puppies.
Our puppies are ready to go home between 8 and 9 weeks old. When you pick up your puppy you will be provided with a puppy kit that will include a couple toys, a collar and a leash along with some additional items. It is our recommendation to start with crate training right away with your puppy, this has been made easier for many people with a heart beat puppy that can be purchased online. You should get your puppy established with a veterinarian of your choice as vaccinations will be needed at 12 and 16 weeks of age.
Australian Shepherds are incredibly smart dogs that are very eager to learn and to please their owners. They are highly trainable with time and devotion spent on training and do best with proper direction. Puppies are the most trainable and retain the most between 12 and 16 weeks of age so basic training should begin right away. You can start right away with the basic commands such as, come, sit, lay down and stay and should add commands once those are solid. Proper socialization is very important with Australian Shepherds so your puppy should be socialized with other adults, kids and any animals you want them around right away. Take your puppy to places such as Home Depot or Lowe’s to aid in introduction to strangers. Avoid dog parks or high traffic areas where there may be parasites or risk of sickness until your puppy is fully vaccinated. Parvo is deadly to puppies and can be picked up at dog parks. Follow the link below for AKC’s guide to training your puppy.
Our puppies are quickly reserved so reach out to reserve your furever friend or to ask any questions.
